Rose Petals A gift our garden brings!   At Paradise Gardens,  we love the colors of our roses and  we try to preserve the many medicinal gifts they bring us! In San Diego County, we prune our roses before our winter frost,  which is usually late November, early December. This will bring spring blooms for late March, early April. Before pruning, we harvest all the rose petals for various uses. For Weddings, Events & Celebrations ROSE PETALS  instead of RICE For the bride and grooms congratulatory sending off; instead of rice, confetti or anything un-natural for the land, one can preserve rose petals by freezing them in ziplock bags. This lends to a more vibrant, fresh color. Laying them out to dry can also be done and then bagged and put aside for your special day.       EVENINGS at  Paradise Gardens!                       We just completed our new outdoor propane fireplace lounge,  which  adds to the magic of Paradise Gardens! After a long day of laying borders and soft bark, we now sit on our wagon wheel benches mesmerized by the sunset,  birds singing the day to an end, Venus west of the horizon, and the half moon up in the dark blue sky. A healing calmness surrounds me,  as the sounds of 'Rising Appalachian' fill my senses, and  palm trees gracefully dancing in the breeze. It's the last day of January, 2023, snow on Palomar Mountain last night,  60 degrees at sunset today.  Loving this weather! Another enchanted evening, celebrating life!    Come experience the magic! Thank you my dear friend Michelle for all your help! Why park benches, you may ask? They provide a great way for visitors to sit and enjoy the natural surroundings of your garden. They add aesthetic appeal, character and comfort to your space. As a sustainable practice, finding used park benches that need tender loving care prevents them from going into the landfill. Some need total restoration, others just need to be cleaned, sanded, stained, painted and sealed. Quite a job, but so worth the results! Here at Paradise Gardens, we have many scenic locations that make park benches a fantastic way to meditate, relax, restore energy and mesmerize into the sunsets!
